Why it matters
An unanswered call is an inquiry nobody owns.
Plumbers under a sink, mechanics under a hood and front desks with a full waiting room miss calls every day. The number sits in a call log, nobody is sure who should call back, and by evening the caller has booked someone else.
Missed call recovery turns each of those calls into a tracked item with a callback window, a drafted reply and one person responsible for it.

Step 1 of 5
Missed call event
A call ends unanswered. Noxtill logs the caller number, time and the line that was called.

Interface and key controls
See the details that keep work moving.
Pick a missed call, change the callback window or owner, and see how the follow-up changes. Text is only offered where consent is on file.
Business scenarios and exceptions
Designed for real-world exceptions.
Having a callback number is not the same as having permission to text it. The state of every follow-up is visible, so nothing is sent without consent and approval.
Business scenario
A practical day in the business.
Buckeye Comfort Plumbing in Columbus, OH has two crews and one dispatcher, Ryan Bennett, who is often on a job site himself.
- 2:17 PM — Grace Mitchell calls about a leaking water heater. Nobody can pick up.
- 2:18 PM — The missed call is logged; her web-form text opt-in from Sep 28 is found.
- 2:19 PM — A follow-up draft lands on Ryan’s phone with a 15-minute callback window.
- 2:24 PM — Ryan approves the text. At 2:31 PM he calls back and books a 4:00 PM visit; the outcome is saved to lead LD-1042.

How are missed calls turned into follow-ups?
Each unanswered call is logged with the number, time and line. Noxtill checks whether the caller can be texted, drafts a follow-up from your approved template, assigns an owner and records the outcome.
Does it text callers automatically?
Only if you allow it and the caller has given consent. By default, a teammate reviews and sends each follow-up.
What if the caller hasn’t agreed to receive texts?
Texting is blocked for that number. A phone callback task is created for the assigned owner instead.
Who should use missed call recovery?
Contractors, clinics, salons and other appointment-driven teams who miss calls while they’re with customers.
What happens if a text fails to send?
The follow-up is marked as failed with the reason shown, and a callback task is created so the caller still hears back.
